She

By Ankita Chavan

She wears a saree

to flaunt her inner naari.

She does fight

For her rights.

She understands touch

Does resists in a rush.

She lifts people up

And believes in ‘’us’’

She always giggles

And is proud of her struggles,

She loves her body

Her stretch marks tell a story.

She stares at the moon

Hoping her dreams to come true soon.

She dances in the rain

And enjoys the bow when seen.

She trips all over

But knows to balance her corner.

She is quite a river

Flowing in her own rhythm.

She knows her flaws

Never stops improving, of course.

She sometime puts her down

When thoughts go round and round.

She hides in the dark

To enjoy the stars and the dawn.

She is in all of us

Just waiting to be out and stand tall.
